Dale Carnegie once said, “Give praise and appreciation and you are golden.” Giving appreciation gifts is a multi-billion dollar industry in the corporate world alone. Gourmet baskets are increasingly popular as appreciation gifts these days as people are more health conscious or prefer something a little different than the standard fruit and chocolate basket. So why not consider a gift basket filled with an assortment of nuts? It’s suitable for lots of occasions and can be given to people who are diet conscious as well.
Nuts provide an essential source of protein, but what really makes them so popular is that they’re so darn tasty. So it’s no surprise that they make great gifts and presents. People enjoy them at birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s and Father’s Days or at Christmas and other special occasions. But where they are even more appreciated is at work – office parties, meetings, client networking events and as perks or bonuses for exceptional employee performance.
Corporations are always looking for more unusual or unique corporate gifts and a nut assortment fits most special occasions. Some companies supply them as hand woven baskets tied in a festive ribbon and lined with paper straw, while other gourmet suppliers present the nuts in baskets made from driftwood. Offering nuts as appreciation gifts is a much healthier choice than snacking on chips, candy and other junk food. There are lots of studies that point out the nutritional benefits of eating nuts. One particular study showed that nuts, almonds and walnuts in particular, will lower or reduce bad cholesterol. Nuts are a rich source of Vitamin E and minerals, such as selenium. Including nuts in the diet is important for vegetarians and vegans as well.
