Caring for your laminate flooring is quite easy. Your floors should be swept a few times a week (more if needed) with a broom. Should they be dusty or dirtier than can be helped with a broom, you can mop with a damp (never wet) mop and water. If your floors are not very dirty or do not see a lot of traffic, spot cleaning with a soft cloth may be all that is needed for most cleaning jobs.
You will find that these types of floors are very durable and stain/fade resistant. If you drop something heavy on a tile floor, the tile will probably crack. Dishes dropped on wood or tile floors frequently break. Laminate flooring is less likely to cause broken dishes (although it does still happen on occasion), and it will not be damaged by the dishes or other objects dropped. The floors are stain resistant so that spills and mishaps can be cared for without risking a large stain from a dropped ladle of pizza sauce. Unlike wood floors, laminated floors are very fade resistant and retain their original beauty very well.
Because laminate flooring is so easy to install, you can do it yourself with little experience or practice. Most pieces to these types of floors simply slide together and look seamless. Installing the floor yourself will certainly save a lot of money. However, there is a certain peace of mind that comes from hiring a professional and letting them make sure they get the job done right the first time.
