Be Aware Of These Stainless Steel Fabrication Issues
Modern manufacturing techniques are demanding increasing levels of skill and technical competence from everyone involved in the process. Stainless steel fabrication is a classic example of a material that is now in demand in every industry from medical to construction to interior design. Stainless steel has a naturally occurring chromium-rich oxide film on the surface of the steel. This thin film is invisible and provides excellent protection against corrosion. General cleanliness, removal of potential carbon and zinc contaminants will all assist to produce a good quality weld. If heat tint and scale should occur, they should be removed by mechanical, chemical or electrochemical means for best corrosion resistance.
