Nitrile gloves are very popular and are used in healthcare, industries and catering situations. They are non allergenic and a safe alternative to latex. What makes these gloves better than other types of gloves such as latex and vinyl is that they are more resistant to oils, acid and puncture.
Nitr-ile gloves are made from nitrile rubber, which is also known as Buna-N, Perbunan or NBR. This rubber is a synthetic copolymer of acrylonitrile (CAN) and butadiene, and is often marketed as Nipol, Krynac and Europrene. Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) is resistant to oil, fuel and other chemicals and is often used in the automotive and aeronautical industry to make oil and fuel handling hoses. It is able to withstand a range of temperatures which makes it useful for aeronautical applications. In addition, it is used to create moulded goods such as footwear, adhesives, sealants, floor mats and so on.
Nitrile is highly resilient which makes it useful for the production of disposable lab, cleaning and examination gloves. Although it more resistant than natural rubber to oils and acids, it has less strength and flexibility. Nevertheless, gloves made from nitrile are more puncture resistant than gloves made from natural rubber.
There are several reasons why nitr-ile gloves are a good choice for the healthcare industry. The disposable gloves are medical grade and very sturdy. This means that they will not be able to tear easily. They are often considered to be one of the strongest types of disposable gloves. They also provide an excellent barrier of protection since they resist chemicals such as greases, solvents and oils. The gloves provide a comfortable fit as they are flexible and soft, and they can be obtained in different sizes to fit different hand sizes. Nitrile gloves have low resistance to friction, and so are very easy to slide on and off.
