Mens Jewelry Box: a Clever Way to Display Your Watch Collection
Men look at watches the way women look at jewelry. They sometimes end up spending an arm and a leg for these watches so it is only right that they store them properly. If you have an extensive array, you will need a mens jewelry box that can hold all your watches.
More often called a watch box or watch case, this particular jewelry box is specifically made to showcase your watches and keep them safe. It can store anywhere from one to twenty or more watches easily depending on how big it is. The box often contains several slots with small pillows to hold each watch separately. This is great especially for watches with metal straps so you can wrap the strap around the pillow snugly and securely.
There are boxes where instead of wrapping them around the pillow, you can lay your watches flat. This is great for leather watches. Some watch cases are made with drawers that can hold spare straps, spring bars, buckles, small tools and other extra parts.
Many of the watch cases come with a clear lid made of glass or acrylic to be able to showcase your watch collection. A clear cover will help you easily identify the watch you want to wear for that day. In addition, if you have a solar powered watch, enough light passes through that can charge your watch.
Some watch boxes are designed with a watch winder. This is convenient because you do not have to manually wind your watch. They are, however, a little expensive.
Some individuals convert old cigar boxes into watch boxes. They device a way by adding dividers to keep each watch in its own place. This is an inexpensive yet creative way to come up with a unique watch box.
Different materials can be utilized when making watch boxes. Some boxes are made of wood, leather, aluminum and other metals. The most common are wooden and leather watch boxes. Some boxes are made with locks and latches while others aren’t. Watch boxes come in many different styles that it sometimes becomes confusing when choosing one.
If you are looking for the perfect box for your watch collection, here are some things to consider.
1. Dimensions. Each compartment should be big enough to accommodate your largest piece. Watches come in different sizes so use your largest piece as a barometer when choosing the size of each compartment.
2. Depth. Go for a box that has enough depth so that when you close it, the lid does not touch the face of the watch. Make sure there is enough room between the top lid and the watch.
3. Pillows. These should be firm, oval pillows large enough to hold the watch securely. Some pillows come with an outer sleeve that you can remove and attach to fit both smaller and larger watches.
4. Lining. Select a lining that uses soft material such as fleece, velvet or microfiber.
If you bear these considerations in mind when choosing a watch box, not only will you be able to store and keep your watch collection safe and secure, you can also enjoy them for many years to come.
